Mark your calendar for Wednesday, Dec. 4. That’s when Baltimore Beat will be teaming up with Baltimore Center Stage (700 N. Calvert St.) for a happy hour and a free showing of “Men on Boats.”
The play, written by Jaclyn Backhaus, is a send-up of the real-life story of the men who explored the Colorado River — told by a cast with no men.
“The real-life journey represented in “Men on Boats” nestles at the core of American identity: an embodiment of the mythology of manifest destiny,” said Baltimore Center Stage artistic fellow Sabine Decatur. “But like so many of the histories we’ve inherited, this one comes with some serious baggage. Who is in control of the narrative and who is left out?”
The happy hour will be from 5:30-7 p.m. and the play starts at 7:30 p.m. Click here to reserve your ticket.
