Subscape is a music festival celebrating a variety of bands that come from Baltimore and other nearby cities. The festival, which ran from October 10-12, was organized by three Baltimore residents who have been engaged in the local music scene for years. They are Andy Phillips, owner of the record store Wax Atlas; Kim Te, a guitarist in several local bands, including Natural Velvet, and a promoter for local venues; and Michael Habif, who runs Baltimore Showplace, an online music and events calendar.

The festival spanned three days, included over 40 bands, and was spread across three venues in Baltimore’s Station North neighborhood. Organizers have kept the festival free with an option to donate, with the goal of making live music more accessible to everyone regardless of income. The music spans multiple genres including metal, punk, indie, experimental, and hardcore.
