Pride in the Park occurred on Sunday afternoon in Druid Hill Park and concluded the weeklong Pride celebrations curated by the Pride Center of Maryland. The Sunday event is notably a family-oriented and youth-friendly segment of Pride. Food and small business vendors set up tents around the walking track of a newly remodeled Druid Hill Park with two performance stages on either end. Families set up blankets and tent awnings in the shade while the sounds of performers carried throughout the park.
VERSION — a dance party and collaboration between founder DJ Trillnatured (Jessica Hyman); MC, host, and Baltimore Beat contributor DJ Kotic Couture (Kylynn Couture); and photographer Sydney Allen — returned after a seven-month hiatus from their monthly schedule with special guest DJ Amorphous, who is most notable for their work on Beyonce’s musical arrangement team during the Renaissance tour. The popular dance party partnered with women-led queer collective Charm City Pride to take over Angels Rock Bar in Power Plant Live!.
The mission of VERSION is to facilitate — through music and dance — a safe, affirming, and celebratory environment in Baltimore City nightlife for those on the LGBTQIA+ spectrum.
