-an overwhelming urge to run away

She pumped her legs

gaining speed with each step

She ran down the cream colored pavement

Soft melodies pounded her ears competing with her quick hard breaths hitting the cold air.

She passed by ‘Your mama’s bakery’

and she remembered how when her mom had some extra money she would take her down here and purchase a Petite Chocolate Croissant just for me.

I remember running to a nearby window seat and taking a bite and immediately getting hit with a burst of flavors, that rich but sweet chocolate, the buttery and flaky texture.

I miss you mom, your curly black hair, your beautiful hazel eyes, your beautiful smile but most importantly your beautiful angelic voice.

You used to love running, it’s a shame I couldn’t run with you too.
