Inspired by the Insomnia Drawings of Louise Bourgeois, Bonnie Crawford makes drawings by the light of her cell phone when she wakes in the middle of the night. She began the series in August of 2016, and as of November 2017 she has made over 280 Insomnia Drawings. Her work is currently on view at China Hutch Projects, a project space for contemporary art situated in the dining room of a rented 1940s bungalow in Chestertown, Maryland. She has an upcoming two-person exhibition (with Amy Boone-McCreesh) at Marymount University Ballston Gallery in January, and a solo show at Montpelier Arts Center in the spring.
